A 45' ex-dive boat now refitted as a permanent houseboat. Option of mooring available at current rural marina or in nearby town marina. History & Construction - Currently "Moby" is still having work carried out, and the aft cabin is still un-finished. The boat is warm in winter, with three wood burning heat sources, two are cast iron stoves and also there is a range for cooking on. The boat still retains its working boat style, with solid wood furniture, round portholes and wooden skylights provide plenty of natural light and planked wooden deckhead throughout. This boat is suitable for a family, as there is space for two separate sleeping cabins. Currently there is potential for eight berths. The double bed forward is open to the saloon and galley. There is a door closing off the galley from the spacious after cabin. The saloon has the stove, and a dining table with bench style seating either side, a flatscreen tv plus a small computer table nearby. The after cabin which has one of the solid stoves too is laid out as a sitting room, with large sofas around the sides, seating about 12 people. Further aft are two bunks on a raised platform behind the heater. The boat dates from the 1940's and was last used as a commercial dive boat before becoming a permanent houseboat. There is mains water at the marina, and also a plastic water storage tank under a bunk. The boat measures 45' long by 15' wide, with a draft of approximately 5'. There are two toilet compartments on board, both with sinks and one with a shower area too. The galley area has a Perkins multifuel boiler, (wood or coal) and has two hotplates and two ovens. There also is a fridge, a freezer and the sink has mains pressure hot and cold water. Safety equipment includes a fire blanket, a smoke alarm and a CO detector. Plans are in place to provide a central heating system supported by the range. Also this would provide hot water to the two bathroom sinks, currently they have cold water only. There is 240V and 12V electric circuits, and two 12V 120amphr batteries (2010). There is a small battery charger working from mains power. The boat has two masts fitted on deck and the original sails are stored below. (The sailing ability of the boat has not been tested and may require new parts to restore the boat to sailing capacity.) There are two automatic bilge pumps and one manual one. There are bulwards all the way around the decks, a CQR main anchor and deck light. Comments - - A beamy double ender style boat, that sits on the mud mooring and makes a comfortable home. Newly rewired and recently improved boat, with ongoing works to the cabins. There is potential to make further cabins in the sitting room area if required. There is also the possible continuation of the boatyard berth, in a quiet rural location, if required. Would be useful as a holiday home or as a full time houseboat. All viewings are accompanied by a Quay Boats Broker and are BY APPOINTMENT. Please phone to BOOK A VIEWING on "Moby". £34,950
